From Detroit to Kansas City: Zelmo Realty’s Story
The Zelmo Realty journey isn’t about buildings and contracts, it’s about passion, family, and building a legacy. Our founder, Kelvin Beatty, wasn’t always a Kansas City real estate leader. In his early days, Kelvin carved a successful path in the bustling automotive industry of Detroit, Michigan.
But deep down, there was a different calling simmering. Kelvin’s true passion lay in the world of real estate.
He began his journey as a residential agent, honing his skills with renowned firms like Century 21, Keller Williams, and Coldwell Banker. This laid the groundwork for a deeper dive into the world of commercial real estate.
When life led Kelvin and his wife, Kimberly, to Houston, Texas, he found himself at the Guess Group, embracing the complexities and rewards of commercial transactions. It was a pivotal learning experience, equipping him with the tools and expertise he needed to thrive in this dynamic field.
After several successful deals in Houston, a new chapter unfolded. A fulfilling career opportunity for Kimberly brought the couple to Kansas City, a city that quickly stole their hearts and became their permanent home.
Armed with a wealth of experience and a proven track record, Kelvin was primed to build something of his own. And so, Zelmo Realty was born!
While achievements like being recognized as one of Houston’s Top 50 Black Professionals & Entrepreneurs in 2017 are noteworthy, Kelvin finds his greatest pride in his family. As a devoted husband and father to three sons (Kelvin Jr., Michael, and Ian) and five grandsons, family values guide everything he does.
